GoodLion Podcast Network

THE COMPLEX PROBLEM WE SOLVED

40+ shows. One publishing challenge.

Independent podcasts had their own publishing tools and audiences. Built in partnership with CGN to serve a network of more than 1,000 churches, GoodLion needed a shared home without making hosts upload everything twice.

Designing a Home for 40+ Gospel-Centered Shows

This was a labor of love.

I started GoodLion as a small handful of podcasts in 2018. Built in partnership with Calvary Global Network, it grew to serve a network of more than 1,000 churches through pastors, teachers, thinkers, and friends offering deeply theological, thoughtful, and emotionally honest conversations about following Jesus. I built this site to be the engine for growth and to serve that mission.

The tagline, “Not Safe, But Good,” is a nod to Lewis and a theology of bold, unfiltered discipleship.

And while I love clean design and strong typography, what really drives me is solving problems for people, especially pastors and ministry leaders who are juggling a thousand things. I want tech to serve your calling, not distract from it.

So here’s the story of how I built this.

01Latest Episodes: Fast, Fluid, Frictionless

This network has over 40 shows, and every single one of them flows onto the homepage automatically.

I built a dynamic system that pulls from each show’s RSS feed, no manual uploads, no bottlenecks.

The hosts publish an episode from wherever they normally publish… and it just appears on the site. Instant distribution. No admin work.

Because pastors and leaders shouldn’t have to mess with extra dashboards just to get their message out.

02Our Shows Page: Personal and Collective

GoodLion Podcast Network project image 3

GoodLion isn’t a one-man show. This section celebrates that.

Every podcast that joins the network gets its own dedicated show page, complete with branding, full episode library, and links to all platforms.

That means every pastor or leader who joins has a home base. A digital space they can point people to confidently, without paying for a separate site or learning how to build one.

The design holds the diversity of voices together without forcing uniformity. I didn’t want a corporate feel. I wanted family.

03From the GoodLion Team: My Creative Handprints

This section highlights the core shows I’ve helped build from the ground up, concept to launch.

  • The GoodLion Podcast (Our Flagship Show)
  • Wilderness Devotional
  • First Time Bible Teacher (Created by my dear friend, Brian Higgins)
  • GoodLion Theology
  • The Good Voice Collective

For these shows, I’ve designed artwork, written copy, edited episodes, built launch strategies, whatever needed doing! It was a joy to do, and I was blessed to see a lot of fruit from these efforts, hearing from folks all around the world about how the content was impacting them.

04Topical Collections: Theology & Culture

This isn’t Netflix. It’s a resource center for discipleship and ministry.

I created themed collections to make it easy for people to find content they actually need:

  • Theology & Culture
  • Ministry & Leadership
  • Questions & Education
  • Discipleship

Each section is curated, not generated. The goal is to help people navigate questions, not endlessly click around.

05Ministry & Leadership Section

This network wasn’t built to boost one person’s platform.

It was built to amplify many faithful ones.

Some of these pastors and leaders came to me with fully developed shows, ready to reach a wider audience.

Others were just getting started, wondering if they had anything worth saying. I helped them shape ideas into shows, design their branding, launch with confidence, and refine their message along the way.

What unites them isn’t production style or audience size, it’s conviction. Every show in this section shares a common heartbeat: to help people follow Jesus in the real world, with courage and clarity!

This is where I’ve poured much of my time and heart: helping leaders lift their voices in a noisy world, and curating a space where they don’t have to shout alone.

06Single Show Page: The GoodLion Podcast

Every host gets a page like this.

Whether it’s a seasoned pastor or a first-time Bible teacher, their episodes are all here: archived, accessible, and laid out with care.

Each page includes embedded players, platform links, and space for bios and descriptions.

And speaking of players: the audio doesn’t stop when you click around.

I built in a sticky dynamic player that stays anchored to the bottom of the screen, so listeners can browse while they listen.

It’s like an app, but in your browser.

07Episode Archive: A Visual Library Built for Exploration

GoodLion Podcast Network project image 8

One of my goals in building the GoodLion Network was to create a space where every single episode, not just the latest ones, could be discovered, explored, and revisited.

That meant rethinking how archives work.

Every show on the network gets a clean, easy-to-navigate library of episodes. The layout is image-forward, with bold square artwork front and center for each episode, turning the archive into a visual library instead of a dull list of titles.

Behind the scenes, I worked with many of our hosts to develop graphic templates, giving them a system to create eye-catching, on-brand artwork for every episode they release. Not just for polish, but to help communicate content at a glance, especially for people scrolling quickly or trying to find a specific topic.

It’s designed to be both beautiful and functional, helping listeners engage with the depth of each show’s catalog. Because the truth is: some of the best ministry content lives five pages deep in the archive… and I wanted to bring it to the surface.

08Final Thought: Built Like It Mattered (Because It Does)

This website to me was never just a “portfolio piece.” It was a calling.

I’ve worked with dozens of pastors and leaders to help them launch their shows, clarify their message, and reach the people God’s called them to serve. This site is the digital extension of that ministry.

If you’re a pastor, teacher, or leader dreaming of a podcast, or trying to get yours heard without burning out, I’d love to help.

This is what I do: build platforms that make your message clear and your mission easier.

And I do it because I believe your voice matters.

This site is the front door to a whole universe of discipleship resources, made by people who actually believe the Gospel is still worth proclaiming.

If you’re building a ministry platform and want it to feel like you, not like a Canva template copy of someone else, I’m your guy.
